In the fourth chapter of John's gospel, Jesus risked His life and testimony to meet with a sinful and confused woman outside a desert town. During their discourse, Christ showed her that for all of her trying she was yet empty and thirsty. Having been victimized by Satan's lies and the world's misconceptions, the woman at the well sought fulfillment in love, society, and religion to no avail. It was a revelation when Jesus said unto the woman, "But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him. God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth." — John 4:23, 24   It revealed to her that only He could fill the longings of her soul and that God was seeking her as much as she was seeking God.
At Wyldewood, we believe the people of our day and culture are much like that Samaritan woman 2,000 years ago. Although desperately seeking fulfillment, they continually encounter the empty promises of Satan, men, and religion which yield only temporary satisfaction. Many people are seeking spiritual fulfillment in Christian communities. With extremely rare exceptions, they are forced to choose between churches which claim to be very loving (spirit) yet lack sound doctrine and Biblical preaching (truth) or churches who fancy themselves as fortresses of fundamentalism (truth) yet lack the greatest of all doctrines – charity (spirit). Authentic worshippers will not sacrifice one to accomplish the other. If you hunger and thirst for righteousness and are tired of temporary satisfaction, we hope you will be encouraged to know there are people just like you at Wyldewood. Join us as we strive together to give God our first and our best in spirit and in truth.
What We Believe

"...earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints.” – Jude 3

It does make a difference what we believe.

At Wyldewood, our goal is to speak the truth in love. Yet, Biblical love never fails to speak the whole truth. Proverbs 30:5 states, "Every word of God is pure:..."; thus, there are no unimportant or subjective doctrines. On the pages of God's book, all ground is holy ground and every bush a burning bush.

OUR PURPOSE is to glorify God through making disciples of Jesus Christ who will worship the Father and love one another in Spirit and in Truth.
OUR MISSION is to glorify God by obeying the Great Commandment (Matthew 22:36-40) and the Great Commission (Matthew 28:19-20).
